Anthony Luis Ruvalcaba was born at 12:36pm June 16, 2010. Labor was interesting…I went from 5cm to 10cm in 30 minutes, and he came out in one contraction – I didn’t feel it because the epidural went awry. The needle went too far, and punctured my spinal column which later gave me a fun headache. How did it go away? They took a whole bunch of blood, and put it back in my spine (another epidural) to fill in the hole. But now everyone is healthy; Anthony doesn’t have any problems with his platelets, and he eats just fine…he’s a bit of a piggy to be honest.
Here are pictures of my 3 week old Anthony and my almost-two year old Flora.

Hi Jen, thanks for sharing your most personal details, and glad all is well now. The photos are terrific, Flora is such a cutie and Anthony – well he has a lovely wise looking face for such a young little man. Just adorable he is. Congratulations to you all. Can’t wait to hear a podcast about how things are going and what stitching you have had time to do – NOT. LOL. Best wishes, Vanessa (Australia)

Hi Jennifer,
I have to tell you that I’m relieved to see your post and the wonderful pictures. With your induction date set for a month ago, I was worried that all had not gone well. What have you been doing for a month?? (Pls keep in mind that my baby is not 35 years old)

I’m just seeing this post. Congratulations!!! We’re expecting our first boy (after 2 girls) in early January, and I can hardly wait. Little boys are so sweet, and have such a special, sweet relationship with their mamas.
